The fact it was at this smaller intimate venue was surprising since the tour was playing mostly bigger venues. But the sound at Nokia can’t be beat. It was built for shows and its obvious when you go to one. Alicia came out on piano but quickly got up and moved around dancing in formation with her back up dancers. It seems as if she’s just getting used to doing this and a great deal of critics have been ripping her apart for the dancing. But why should anyone be pigeonholed into sitting onstage at a piano for the entire show if they don’t want to be. I commend her for taking a chance and trying something new. It is however incredibly obvious that she is at home behind that piano, giving a stronger performance when she was playing it. A couple of my favorites from the night were Unbreakable and Karma.
