Concert Reviews & Photos Dave Barnes w/Johnny Lang @ The House of Blues 6/20/08 Set List Dave Barnes Set Everybody But You Butterflies Good World Gone Bad Someday Sarah Since You Said I Do Greyhound On A Night Like This Until You Graces Amazing Hands Review This week Dave Barnes came to the House of Blues as the opener for Johnny Lang who is an amazing guitar player so you can imagine how thrilled Dave had to be to get an opportunity to open for him. Like any Dave show he was as comfortable as ever on the stage. Talking to the audience like it was nothing, giving them a bit of the Dave Barnes humor. Barnes is a different genre from Lang though so I was curious to see how well received he would be, but honestly a good deal of Johnny's fans seemed to really enjoy Dave. And a few of Dave fans showed up to pad the crowd and give some support and he enjoyed bantering back and forth with them as usual. The one thing I would have changed is the set list. While it’s pretty solid with the songs his fans like the most. There’s a couple weaker songs in the mix. After Dave’s set was Johnny Lang whom I had actually seen once before and it was more or less the same as the last time. He’s an amazing amazing guitar player and a pretty descent blues singer. Amazing to watch him go to town on the guitar though. That’s the best part about Johnny’s show is the major skills going on right in front of you. I think everyone should experience a Johnny Lang show at least once. Especially if you have any respect for talented Guitar Players -Rachel Parker Johnny Lang performs at the House of Blues.
