Concert Reviews & Photos Hotel Cafe Tour @ The House of Blues 3/14/08 Review Friday the Hotel Cafe Tour stopped at the House of Blues. Now I have to admit I love this tour. If I lived in LA I would take up a cot and sleep at the Hotel Cafe there. They have so many amazing artist that play and get their start there. The amazing line up for the tour was Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, Joshua Radin, Cary Brothers, and Greg Laswell. It was my first time seeing Ingrid whom I was incredibly impressed and amused with. She ended up taking random request for tv theme songs after singing the fresh prince theme, a few of the tv songs I can think of were Golden Girls, Facts of Life, and Transformers. But on a serious note, her songs were great, it’s amazing that she wasn’t signed to a label sooner. Greg I had also never seen before, he was ok but I wasn’t all that into his set. I did like his cover of girls just wanna have fun. But that doesn’t say much for the audience and other folks enjoying a cover song. Granted his set was only like 4 songs. It’s hard to judge someone accurately. Josh who’s music is very chill was very calming. He did some new stuff from his upcoming album and fans shouldn’t be disappointed at all. He’s fairly consistent with his performances. Cary is also pretty consistent with his performances but I’m not that into him really. I do like a few of his songs though. They saved Sara for last probably because she had her own band and that’s fine because it’s just less music the tours Band has to learn and it gives them a break. I have to say Sara’s vocals are some of the best I’ve ever heard live and I’ve seen her a handful of times and they are always that amazing. She’s an incredible songwriter as well, and pretty funny. That makes her a triple threat! A treat for me was that she got up and did a cover of the beatles song “Oh Darling” with her on vocals and just backed by guitar.
