Jessica Simpson headlined the chevy main stage friday night at the State Fair of Texas. While the show definitely had one of the biggest turn outs at the fair this year. One had to wonder if more folks were there to see if Tony Romo would show up, or to actually watch Jessica Simpson. Romo did not disappoint, being escorted to the soundboard area a few minutes before Jessica hit the stage, causing all sorts of commotion.

Then even after Jessica was on the stage half of the audience was turned around to watch Romo and snap photos of him. Simpson hit the stage to "These Boots are Made for Walking," after a taped introduction by Willie Nelson. Unfortunately just because Willie introduces you, doesn't quite make you country yet.

While she's making a descent attempt to cross over to the genre, there's a lingering question of will her long time fans of her pop music accept the change. Not to mention the question of will country listeners accept her habit of over singing her songs as if she's still part of the pop genre with artist like Christina and Britney.

While the audience definitely the latest single "Come on Over." Jessica still has a ways to go before securing a place in the world of country music. She's definitely used to being the headliner and main act, but taking a step back and opening for some veterans of the country music genre, may not be a bad idea or learning experience.
