Fancy Review We traveled to Louisiana to see hometown girl this weekend and one of my favorites, Kelly Clarkson perform with her Idol Reba McEntire. The two did a small tour of some of the smaller big cities through out the US.

The two played the entire set with both onstage the whole time. An idea inspired by the CMT Crossroads they did together. While most songs were performed together, a few numbers had one or the other doing back up. Both womens vocals were in fine form, it was honestly some of the best vocals I have ever heard from Clarkson. She’s an amazing vocalist and always sounds great, but sometimes she’s a little rough on her voice with her heavy tour load she takes on. But this time the vocals were superb even with the 3 shows back to back scheduling.

Personal highlights for me were “Beautiful Disaster” “The Greatest Man I Never Knew” “And Still” “Is There Life Out There” and “A Moment Like This.” Another big highlight was the number “I’m a Survivor” where comedian and opening act Melissa Peterman joined them onstage. The set did seem a little Reba heavy, but the plus to that is getting to hear Kelly sing songs I haven’t heard her do before. But it toned down the rocking out to only a few select songs like Since U Been Gone and Behind These Hazel Eyes. I could have definitely used more rocking.

This show is a great one. Especially if you’re a fan of either of them. If they tour again it’s worth while to try to make it out to the show.

                                                                                                                    -Rachel Parker Reviews Archive: 2008 2007 2006 2009 2010
