We went to see the hometown girl Kelly Clarkson perform with Reba McEntire on the second leg of their “Two Worlds, Two Voices” Tour in Little Rock, Arkansas. We actually went to see this tour in Louisiana earlier this year and it was fantastic. Needless to say this show was nothing short of that as well. A refreshing change was the addition of the songs Why Not Tonight and Stuff Like that There. It was nice having a couple of new songs in the mix and I would even go so far as to say Kelly sounded even better than the last time. McEntire was noticeably more comfortable when performing Clarkson’s songs as well. On the other hand its no surprise Clarkson sings Reba’s numbers so seamlessly. Kelly makes it well known she grew up listening to McEntires music, even telling a story about an old teacher of hers (ironically in the audience that night) who gave her a cassette tape of Reba. Inside I was still wishing Kelly would have gotten to sing more on “Is There Life Out There” but still my favorite of the Reba numbers. A still hilarious moment was the number “I’m a Survivor” where the two are joined by Melissa Peterman aka Barbara Jean, and comedy ensues.
