Sunday evening Meg and Dia were a breath of fresh air on the Take Action Tour. In a sea of punk acts the two ladies of the tour gave the audience a fantastic acoustic set. Apologizing profusely through out the night for having to play acoustic due to a band member having to fly home for a family emergency.

What the two didn’t realize was just how nice it was to be able to hear the songs in rare form. The songs the act was singing weren’t your typical punk songs either. They involved substance in a mature way. In fact they seemed out of place on the line up at all.

These girls seem to be on the verge of breaking out and have the chance to get some radio play with catchy tracks like “What If.” If their chance for stardom comes they’re sure ready for it, the connection between the entire band was amazing during a moment onstage where they weren’t sure how to start a song acoustically but said about four words to each other and then figured it out flawlessly.

Exceeding in the acoustic department was a beautiful song titled “Halloween” Dia’s haunting vocals filling the room. The band waited till the end of the set to give the audience their most popular song “Monster” Obviously the crowd favorite, seeing as how they wouldn’t stop yelling it between songs. The only complaint I have is how short the bands set was. I would have liked to heard more from the pair, and judging by the abundance of Meg and Dia t-shirts in the audience, I don’t think I’m alone on this one.
